There are so many decisions to make, and it can be overwhelming. I know how it feels, because I was once there.
In 2001, before being a general contractor, I built my first ADU as an owner-builder. I slogged my way through two slow, confusing years of permits, contractors, and making decisions having no information on how a house was built. It was terrible.
But I could see there was a better way. With better understanding of the process, I could make building simple and fun.
After that experience, I started a licensed general contracting company to do it the right way. Now I’ve spent over 20 years flipping houses and building ADUs for myself and others - making sure the process is easy and fun each step of the way.
